Diet is healthy food which a person needs to take every day. We should know what we have to take as food every day. To know this, we have to understand our internal constitution (prakriti) of our body. Our body is made of five elements which are:
Earth
Water
Fire
Air
Space
In ayurveda physiology, prakriti of every human is based on Vat, Pitta and Kaph
Vata: Means movement i.e. any type of movement, action in your body up to mind level .This is because of vata. For example I am writing this paragraph due to my vata condition.
Pitta: Means transformation i.e. any type of transformation in the body is due to pitta. For example- We eat food and it gets transformed in to blood.
Kaph: Means construction in the body. For example: When our thinking process is on and suddenly some idea comes in our mind that is construction work in our body due to kaph.
Vata, pita and kaph have different properties and that is why each and every individual is different. Due to which every individual has a different thinking process and his body also responds differently.
So in order to have right food it is very important to know our prakriti. Vata, pitta kaph is made up of above five elements and our food is also made up of five elements. Hence combination of the food according to individual’s prakriti is very important and through this body can prevent diseases.
